Salalah – The Oman Across Ages Museum has launched a campaign called ‘Damak Wasel’ as part of the preparations for Dhofar Khareef 2026, aiming to boost museum tourism and encourage visitors to include the museum in their itineraries while exploring Oman.
The campaign seeks to position the museum as a key cultural destination for visitors heading to Dhofar, offering them an immersive journey through the sultanate’s rich history, civilisation and cultural heritage across different eras.
Al Yaqdhan bin Abdullah Al Harthi, Director General of Oman Across Ages Museum, said the initiative is designed to enhance the museum’s presence on the sultanate’s cultural tourism map while showcasing its role in preserving and presenting the nation’s heritage through state-of-the-art exhibitions, artefacts and interactive galleries.
“The campaign reflects our commitment to introducing a wider audience to the museum’s unique cultural and educational experience,” he said.
As part of the initiative, the museum is rolling out an extensive media and marketing campaign across social media platforms, traditional media outlets and promotional events at locations both inside and outside the sultanate. The activities are aimed at reaching a broad range of visitors and increasing awareness of the museum as a leading cultural attraction.
Al Harthi noted that the museum in Manah plays a vital role in supporting cultural tourism by preserving Oman’s heritage and presenting it through innovative exhibition techniques that deepen public understanding of the sultanate’s historical achievements and cultural identity.
He added that the ‘Damak Wasel’ campaign supports efforts to revitalise tourism during Dhofar Khareef by linking cultural attractions with tourism experiences and showcasing the sultanate’s rich historical, heritage and cultural diversity.
The museum said its previous promotional campaigns delivered strong results, attracting more visitors, expanding public awareness of its collections and facilities, and reinforcing its standing as one of Oman’s leading cultural and tourism landmarks.
