Iran’s President announces imminent release of $6bn in frozen assets from Qatar

30 Jun 2026 Iran claims $6 Billion of frozen resources to be released from Qatar By OUR CORRESPONDENT

Tehran – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that $6bn of frozen Iranian assets, held in Qatar, will be released and returned to Iran. According to the state-run IRNA news agency, the President noted that this is part of a broader plan involving $12 billion of resources.

However, United States officials have contradicted this claim, asserting that no frozen Iranian assets have been released thus far. These developments occur as regional tensions rise following weekend drone and missile attacks involving Iran, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

Despite threats to halt negotiations due to ongoing US airstrikes, a source has confirmed that Iranian and US technical teams are scheduled to meet in Doha in the coming days to continue discussions.
