Muscat – Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has officially reported a significant surge in temperatures across various regions over the past 24 hours. Data compiled from meteorological stations indicates that Barka recorded the highest temperature in the nation, reaching a peak of 48.2°C. Other areas, including Muscat, Rustaq, and Amerat, also experienced extreme heat, with temperatures ranging between 46.1°C and 47.8°C.
Concurrently, the authorities have issued a formal alert for fishermen and those visiting the coastal areas. Due to the influence of active monsoon winds, the sea along the coastline of the Arabian Sea is expected to remain rough. Forecasts predict wave heights between 2.5 and 3.5 metres. This condition is anticipated to persist throughout the duration of the monsoon wind activity. Officials strongly advise the public and maritime workers to exercise extreme caution, prioritize safety, and adhere to official weather bulletins during this period.
