Jabal Akhdar – Jabal Akhdar in Dakhliyah is witnessing steady expansion in tourism activity with 33 projects currently underway in the wilayat, according to figures released by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
The projects include hotels, resorts, eco-tourism ventures and hospitality facilities aimed at increasing accommodation capacity and enhancing visitor experience in the mountain destination.
In addition, 15 tourism establishments have secured initial approvals, paving the way for further investment and diversification of offerings in the area.
By the end of 2025, a total of 42 licensed tourism establishments were operating in Jabal Akhdar. The figures indicate sustained investor interest, supported by the destination’s moderate climate, mountain landscapes and growing appeal among regional and international visitors.
Jabal Akhdar has emerged as one of Oman’s prominent tourism destinations, known for its rugged terrain, agricultural terraces and luxury mountain resorts. Authorities continue to promote sustainable tourism development in line with Oman Vision 2040, which aims to enhance the sector’s contribution to the national economy and attract quality investments.
Visitor numbers reached 222,151 in 2025, compared to 203,629 in 2024, marking an increase of 9.1%, according to data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
