12 May 2026 CPA recalls Flying Tiger glassware for excessive lead levels By OUR CORRESPONDENT

Muscat – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has issued an official warning regarding the recall of Flying Tiger glass drinking cups following a notification from the GCC Rapid Alert System. This alert confirms that the affected glassware contains elevated levels of lead and cadmium, substances that are considered harmful to public health. The recall specifically concerns glass cups with a capacity of 220 ml that were sold during the years 2024 and 2025. Investigations revealed that the external printing on these products poses a direct health risk to consumers due to the presence of these heavy metals.

Specific batch numbers identified in the warning include 3055350, 30533912, 3052986, 3060031, 3057450, and 3062993. Although no local distributor for the Flying Tiger brand was found within the markets of the Sultanate of Oman, the Authority has taken proactive measures by publishing this warning on its official website and the “Aajel” platform. Consumers who may have acquired these items elsewhere are strongly urged to stop using the product immediately.
