China – China Manned Space Agency announced on Thursday, that the Tianzhou-9 cargo spacecraft has successfully re-entered the Earth’s atmosphere in a controlled manner. According to reports from the Xinhua News Agency, the majority of the spacecraft burnt up during the re-entry process, though a small amount of debris fell into designated safe maritime areas as planned. This controlled descent marks the formal conclusion of the vessel’s logistics mission to the orbiting Tiangong space station.

Tianzhou-9 was originally launched on July 15, 2025 from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan Province. During its tenure in orbit, the craft provided vital support to the resident astronauts, carrying an extensive payload that included consumables, propellant, and various equipment for scientific experiments. The spacecraft undocked from the Tiangong space station on Wednesday, entering a brief period of independent flight before its final atmospheric re-entry.
