Muscat – The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has released its annual report for 2025, documenting a year of significant milestones and initiatives that have strengthened its role as the primary reference for official data in the Sultanate of Oman. A central highlight of the year was the launch of the National Strategy for Statistics and Information 2025–2030. This strategic framework is designed to unify statistical methodologies and enhance data integration to support national development goals and the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

The report also details a major technical achievement, as the NCSI became the first in its field to receive the ISO 27701 certification for data protection and privacy. Furthermore, the Centre reached a global milestone by conducting the first household income and expenditure survey using artificial intelligence. This digital transformation has improved data quality and accelerated production, providing more accurate economic and social indicators. Additionally, the year saw increased regional cooperation through memorandums of understanding, including a partnership with the General Authority for Statistics in Saudi Arabia, which aims to develop national capabilities and foster scientific research.
