Pakistan – Diplomatic activity has surged in Islamabad as international mediators work to facilitate negotiations between the United States and Iran. This development follows an announcement by President Donald Trump to extend the current ceasefire, allowing more time for a formal proposal to end the conflict. Despite the extension, the United States military has been instructed to maintain the naval blockade on Iranian ports. In a related update, the White House confirmed that Vice President JD Vance will not attend the scheduled talks in Pakistan, with future updates to be managed directly by Washington.

Concurrently, tensions remain high in Lebanon where Israeli military operations have reportedly continued despite a truce established on April 15. Reports indicate significant damage to infrastructure and housing in several southern towns, including Al-Khiam and Meiss Ej Jabal. The Lebanese Disaster Risk Management Unit has highlighted a growing humanitarian crisis, noting that over 118,000 individuals have been displaced since early March. While diplomatic efforts for a resolution continue, the United States is set to host a new round of talks between Israeli and Lebanese representatives this Thursday to seek a sustainable agreement.
