Suhar – Ministry of Health (MoH) officially opens Salwa Healthcare for Addiction Rehabilitation on Thursday. Held under the patronage of H E Dr Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, the inauguration marks the launch of the first integrated centre for the treatment and rehabilitation of addiction in partnership with the private sector. The facility is designed to provide a comprehensive system of medical, psychological, and social services aimed at enabling beneficiaries to achieve full recovery and effective reintegration into society.

Located in the North Batinah Governorate, the hospital represents a successful collaborative model between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance, Salwa Healthcare, and the Jusoor Foundation. The facility will serve patients from North and South Batinah, Dhahirah, Buraimi, and Musandam. The first phase of the hospital includes 30 beds, specialised clinics, and group therapy halls, while a second phase is planned to add a dedicated detoxification department with 25 additional beds. Treatment programmes are tailored to individual needs, ranging from several weeks to six months, ensuring a sustainable path to recovery through advanced behavioural and vocational rehabilitation.
