Rustaq – South Batinah Municipality has announced the opening of applications for temporary winter camps for the 2026–2027 season, with 21 designated sites across five wilayats in the governorate.

The designated camping areas span Rustaq, Barka, Musannah, Nakhal and Wadi Al Maawil, offering residents and visitors a range of locations to enjoy Oman’s winter camping season.

Applications opened on October 15, with prospective campers required to submit their requests to the relevant municipal department in the wilayat where they intend to set up camp.

The six-month camping season is expected to attract families and outdoor enthusiasts keen to enjoy the cooler weather and explore the natural landscapes of South Batinah.

The municipality has stressed that all applications must comply with the approved regulations, requirements and controls governing temporary winter camps. Applicants are advised to review the designated locations and conditions before submitting their requests.

The allocation of 21 sites across the five wilayats aims to organise seasonal camping activities and guide visitors towards approved locations, helping ensure that camping takes place in accordance with municipal requirements.

Further details on designated sites, camping conditions and application procedures are available in the municipality’s official announcement and through the accompanying QR code.

The initiative forms part of efforts to organise winter camping across South Batinah during the 2026–2027 season.
