Muscat – The Consumer Protection Authority in Barka seized 25,723 goods and materials from an unlicensed site used to store and trade products in the wilayat.

The operation followed a report received by the authority about the site and suspected violations of approved specifications and requirements. After completing the necessary legal procedures, an inspection and judicial enforcement team visited the site and seized the goods.

The seized items included unlicensed products stored under improper conditions, goods that did not meet approved specifications and standards, and products requiring registration with the relevant authorities. The seizure also included a product prohibited from circulation in Oman.

The authority has taken legal action against the establishment and in relation to the seized items in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The Consumer Protection Authority said it will continue inspection and monitoring campaigns targeting businesses and establishments to ensure compliance with regulations, protect consumer rights and safeguard public health and safety.
