Gaborone, Botswana – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived in the Republic of Botswana on Wednesday afternoon on a two-day state visit.
Upon His Majesty’s arrival at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in the capital Gaborone, President Duma Gideon Boko of Botswana, led the welcoming party for His Majesty at the foot of the ramp.
President Boko welcomed His Majesty the Sultan and the accompanying official delegation, expressing his profound delight at the gracious visit, as the artillery fired a 21-gun salute in honour of His Majesty the Sultan.
His Majesty the Sultan and President Boko then ascended the dais of honour, where the Royal Anthem of Oman and the Botswana National Anthem were played, followed by His Majesty’s inspection of a Guard of Honour.

Thereafter, His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with Botswana’s officials assembled to greet him, while President Boko shook hands with members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty.
A welcoming tableau of traditional Botswanan arts was then presented in celebration and warm welcome of His Majesty the Sultan.
The motorcade of His Majesty the Sultan, accompanied by President Boko, then set off for the Presidential Headquarters.
