Salalah – The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has launched a campaign called ‘Sustainable Dhofar’ to encourage community-led solutions to environmental, urban, logistics and digital challenges in the governorate.

The campaign is being implemented in coordination with several government bodies, including Dhofar Governor’s Office, Dhofar Municipality, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Environment Authority, Oman Airports and other partners.

The campaign aims to promote sustainability and innovation while encouraging youth, entrepreneurs, investors and academic institutions to develop practical ideas that can be turned into viable projects.

Abdullah bin Ali Al Busaidi, Director General of Oman Logistics Centre, said the initiative complements the ministry’s efforts to promote green mobility and coincides with the second Gulf Green Forum in Salalah.

“The campaign aims to establish a culture of sustainability and encourage different segments of society to participate in creating solutions and initiatives that contribute to building a sustainable future for Dhofar,” Al Busaidi said.

Participants can submit proposals through the Amed platform, which was launched alongside the campaign to receive ideas related to logistics and digital sustainability.

The campaign also seeks to build a database of innovators and entrepreneurs to support future projects aligned with Oman Vision 2040.
