Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received a telephone call from Sanae Takaichi, Prime Minister of Japan, on Monday.

At the outset, the prime minister conveyed the greetings of Emperor Naruhito of Japan to His Majesty the Sultan, along with best wishes of good health and well-being to His Majesty. The emperor also wished the Omani people further progress and development.

On his turn, His Majesty the Sultan asked Japanese PM to convey his greetings and best wishes of good health and happiness to Emperor Naruhito. His Majesty also wished the friendly Japanese people further prosperity and growth.

During the call, the two sides reviewed the strong bilateral relations between Oman and Japan, and explored avenues to further support and develop these across various spheres, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional developments. The Japanese PM expressed her appreciation for Oman’s efforts in supporting dialogue and de-escalation pathways, as well as in strengthening regional and international security and stability.
