Muscat – The Youth Centre has launched a wide range of in-person and virtual summer programmes aimed at equipping Omani youth with practical skills, technological knowledge and career-ready competencies in line with labour market needs.

The new package includes specialised training in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital branding, languages, career development, sustainability and inclusive education.

A key highlight is the Cybersecurity Programme, which introduces participants to information security, cyber threat awareness and digital protection through practical exercises and simulated security incidents. The programme is designed to meet the growing demand for cybersecurity skills in today’s digital economy.

The centre has also introduced a Chinese Language Programme, offering participants an opportunity to learn the basics of Mandarin while gaining an understanding of Chinese culture. The initiative aims to expand educational and professional opportunities, particularly in international collaboration and business.

For students planning to study or work abroad, the IELTS Preparation Programme provides intensive training in listening, reading, writing and speaking, along with mock examinations and test-taking strategies to improve performance.

To enhance employability, the Career Readiness Programme focuses on CV writing, interview preparation, professional communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence and career planning. It also helps participants develop productivity, time management and work-life balance skills needed in today’s competitive workplace.

The centre is also offering a Digital Personal Brand Building Programme, enabling participants to establish a professional online presence through content creation, digital reputation management and the use of artificial intelligence tools to manage social media platforms and strengthen entrepreneurial opportunities. As part of its inclusive initiatives, the Youth Centre is organising a Fundamentals of Agriculture Programme for young people with Down syndrome. The practical course introduces modern farming techniques through interactive activities that promote life skills, self-confidence, teamwork and motor development.

The programme lineup also features the EV-Pro Electric Vehicle Experience Camp – Third Edition, organised in collaboration with Shell Oman Marketing Company. The camp aims to familiarise young Omanis with electric vehicle technology and environmental sustainability while encouraging innovation in the green mobility sector.

Another flagship initiative is the AI Agent Development Camp, where participants will design artificial intelligence solutions to address real-world challenges in Oman. Working alongside industry experts and mentors, they will develop, test and showcase minimum viable product (MVP) prototypes using advanced AI technologies in collaboration with small and medium-sized enterprises.

The Youth Centre said the summer programmes are part of its ongoing efforts to empower young Omanis with future-focused skills, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and prepare them for emerging opportunities in the sultanate’s rapidly evolving economy.
