North Sharqiyah – North Sharqiyah Governorate is undergoing a significant transformation in its transport infrastructure, driven by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
This initiative aligns with national efforts to improve road networks, ensuring higher safety standards while accommodating population growth and stimulating economic and tourism activity. Total investment in these projects for 2025 and 2026 exceeds RO 105 mn, covering dual carriageway construction, new road links, and efficiency upgrades across all wilayats.
Key developments include the near-completion of the Wadi Bani Khalid road and major new contracts for roads in Ibra, Dima Wa Al Tayeen, and Al Qabil. These strategic projects aim to connect residential areas, support industrial zones, and provide improved access to natural and archaeological tourist attractions, directly contributing to the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
