Muscat – The Environment Authority (EA) has invited bids for consultancy services for the development of administrative and visitor facilities at three environmentally significant locations across the sultanate, reinforcing efforts to enhance conservation infrastructure and promote sustainable tourism.

The tenders cover the establishment of an administrative centre and visitor facilities at Al Sireen Nature Reserve in Amerat, an administrative centre at Khor Kharfout Archaeological Reserve in Dhofar, and an administrative centre with visitor facilities at Jabal Akhdar Reserve in Dakhliyah.

The projects are designed to enhance the management of protected areas and natural attractions while improving services for visitors, researchers and environmental specialists. Consultancy firms selected for the assignments will provide planning, design and related advisory services required for project implementation.

The Al Sireen Nature Reserve is among Oman’s most important protected areas, known for its rich biodiversity and role in preserving wildlife and natural habitats. The proposed facilities are expected to support conservation programmes, environmental monitoring and public awareness initiatives.

The Khor Kharfout project aims to improve the management and development of one of Dhofar’s most distinctive natural sites, while the Jabal Akhdar initiative seeks to improve visitor services and environmental management at one of the sultanate’s premier mountain tourism destinations.

The last date to submit bids is July 27.

The projects reflect EA’s commitment to enhancing environmental governance and developing facilities that support conservation, scientific research and environmental awareness, while contributing to the growth of sustainable tourism across the sultanate.
