Bukha – The waterfront development project in Bukha, Musandam, has reached 95% completion, marking a major step in the governorate’s efforts to improve tourism infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors.

Spanning an area of 26,000sqm, the project is part of government initiatives aimed at leveraging Musandam’s unique natural and coastal assets while supporting sustainable economic development.

The waterfront is one of the governorate’s key strategic development projects and is expected to reinforce Bukha’s position as a leading tourism destination in Musandam by offering modern recreational, commercial and public facilities.

Mohammed bin Saif Al Jabri, Assistant Director General of Musandam Municipality, said the project will serve as an integrated leisure destination for visitors to Bukha and the governorate as a whole.

“The project is designed to attract beachgoers, stimulate tourism and economic activity, and provide a vibrant environment for recreation and sports while promoting healthy lifestyles,” he said.

The development includes an 800m promenade, retail kiosks, a boat rental facility, a modern restaurant overlooking the sea, a dedicated children’s play area, decorative water fountains, landscaped green spaces and shaded outdoor seating areas, in addition to supporting service facilities.

Al Jabri noted that the project is a significant addition to Musandam’s tourism and recreational infrastructure, enhancing the attractiveness of the coastal area while creating a suitable setting for marine activities and community events.

He added that the waterfront will contribute to improving the urban landscape of Bukha and support the governorate’s broader tourism development strategy.

According to Al Jabri, the project will also create new investment opportunities, support small and medium-sized enterprises through its commercial facilities, stimulate local economic activity and increase tourism-related spending.

Upon completion, the waterfront is expected to become a prominent attraction that combines Musandam’s natural beauty with modern amenities, further strengthening the governorate’s reputation as one of Oman’s most distinctive coastal tourism destinations.
