Dakhliyah – Environment Authority (EA) has successfully apprehended a citizen for the unauthorised cutting of wild trees within the Al Hajar Al Gharbi Starlight Reserve. This act constitutes a direct violation of environmental protection laws, which prohibit the tampering with or encroachment upon wildlife and natural vegetation.

Following the incident, the authorities confiscated the wood and initiated the necessary legal proceedings against the individual involved. The Environment Authority continues to emphasise the critical importance of adhering to established environmental regulations to preserve Oman’s natural resources and biodiversity for future generations.

Members of the public are encouraged to report any environmental violations, such as illegal logging or damage to vegetation, to the relevant authorities to ensure the protection of the Sultanate’s ecosystems.
