Muscat– The Muscat governorate has outlined the online application process for the Marriage Support Fund, encouraging eligible Omanis to benefit from the initiative aimed at easing the financial burden of starting married life.
According to a statement, the application process consists of three main stages. The first step involves completion of an online form and uploading all necessary supporting documents.
The second stage involves the review process, during which a dedicated committee examines each application to verify eligibility and ensure that all submitted documents meet the required criteria.
In the final stage, completed applications are forwarded to the main committee for approval. Applicants whose requests are accepted will be notified through a text message or a phone call.
Couples seeking support from the Marriage Fund in Muscat governorate can submit their applications through the governorate’s official portal at http://gom.gov.om
The service is provided free of charge and applications are typically processed within 30 working days, provided that all required documents are submitted correctly.
To qualify for the support programme, applicants must be Omani citizens residing in Muscat governorate and aged between 22 and 45 years. They must also be applying for their first marriage and have a monthly income not exceeding RO600. In addition, the marriage must be to an Omani national.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to support citizens and strengthen family stability. It aligns with Royal directives aimed at promoting social cohesion and helping Omanis overcome financial challenges often associated with marriage.
