Muscat – Authorities in Oman have issued a stern warning against unauthorised drone operations after monitoring teams detected several recent violations, stressing that strict legal action will be taken against offenders.
In a public notice, the Government Communication Center said that multiple cases of illegal drone activity had been recorded, prompting officials to reiterate regulations governing the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.
The statement emphasised that operating drones without an official permit from the Civil Aviation Authority Oman is strictly prohibited.
Officials warned that any attempt to conduct unlicensed flights or bypass aviation regulations constitutes a clear violation of the law and will result in deterrent legal measures.
Authorities stressed that the rules apply to all operators without exception, underscoring that compliance with aviation and safety regulations is essential to protect public safety and safeguard the country’s airspace.
The public, including drone hobbyists and commercial operators, has been urged to obtain the required permits and adhere strictly to aviation regulations before operating unmanned aerial vehicles.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that the suspension of permits for drone and other aerial activities remains in force as part of precautionary measures to ensure aviation safety. The authority stressed that compliance with the directive is mandatory for all individuals, companies and drone operators.
