Muscat – Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued a formal announcement regarding the temporary suspension of physical services at several of its service centres. This precautionary measure is being implemented to ensure the safety of all citizens and residents during the current adverse weather conditions affecting the Sultanate of Oman. The suspension, which is scheduled for Wednesday, will affect departments responsible for passports, civil status, and traffic matters across nearly all governorates.
According to the official statement, the only governorates exempt from this service suspension are South Sharqiyah, Al Wusta, and Dhofar. While physical service centres in the remaining areas will be closed, the Royal Oman Police has confirmed that digital services will remain continuously available through its various electronic platforms. This ensures that essential administrative tasks can still be processed remotely without requiring travel during the unstable weather.
Furthermore, the authorities have clarified that the closure of administrative service centres will not affect frontline policing. All police commands and stations will continue to operate around the clock to provide emergency assistance and maintain public order. The Royal Oman Police remains committed to ensuring public safety and encourages everyone to utilise digital channels for routine inquiries and transactions during this period.
