Muscat – Oman is set to host the 6th Festival for People with Disabilities starting on December 1, 2025 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher. Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the week-long event aims to promote inclusion and showcase the abilities of disabled people across the Sultanate.
The festival is expected to attract a broad range of participants, volunteers, and support staff. This year’s instalment focuses on enhancing services and strengthening the social role of disabled people through a diverse programme.
Key features include a comprehensive cultural exhibition covering visual arts, photography, and digital art, alongside a full Paralympic sports schedule. Sports will feature athletics, goalball, wheelchair basketball, and boccia, all held in state-of-the-art facilities. Furthermore, the event will host specialised training workshops in sports classification and competition management, with international experts contributing to the development of national cadres.
Officials noted that the festival is an integral part of the country’s National Sports Strategy and aligns directly with the ambitious objectives of Oman Vision 2040 to build a cohesive and socially enabled community.
