Muscat – Royal Oman Police (ROP) has introduced an emergency passport renewal service for Omani citizens facing urgent travel situations. The service, now available at Muscat International Airport, applies to citizens whose passports have less than six months of validity.
An ROP official said the facility is intended for students travelling for studies, patients seeking medical treatment abroad and citizens travelling for work. Travellers must present a confirmed flight ticket and original documents supporting the nature of their emergency, including medical reports for treatment cases or other urgent travel papers.
The official stressed that the service is designed to ease travel for citizens in exceptional circumstances but does not replace standard passport renewal procedures at police service centres across the sultanate.
