Avicen, one of Oman’s leading healthcare brands, has launched the sultanate’s first wellness e-commerce app, aimed at improving access to safe, approved medicines and wellness products while combating the circulation of counterfeit drugs.
The launch ceremony on Sunday was attended by Hilal al Sarmi, CEO of the Athar Health Endowment Foundation, and Ibrahim Ahmed Mohammed Ali al Ghafri, Chairman of Avicen Group, along with senior management and staff.
Recognised as Oman’s second-largest retail pharmacy chain, Avicen’s new platform offers customers a secure and convenient way to shop for a wide range of wellness and healthcare products — including skincare, baby care, women’s health, nutritional supplements, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and daily essentials. Free delivery is available for orders of RO10 or more or within a 20km radius.
Hilal al Sarmi described the app as a milestone for digital healthcare. “This app reflects a remarkable user experience and marks the beginning of a new era in blending convenience with affordability,” he said.
Nissar Edathum Chalil, Managing Director of Avicen Group, said the initiative aligns with the company’s vision to be a trusted partner in every stage of customers’ healthcare journey. “Launching Oman’s first wellness e-commerce app is a proud moment for us. Beyond convenience, we aim to promote a culture of preventive health and well-being,” he said.
He added that while prescription medicines are not yet included on the platform, work is under way with authorities to integrate them soon. “Every step — from sourcing and importing to distribution — is carried out under strict regulatory supervision to ensure only high-quality products reach customers,” Chalil said.
The Avicen app is available on Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Shopify.
