Salalah – The Arab Youth Forum for Climate Action 2025 opened on Saturday at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah. Organised by the Madad Development Foundation with the support of the Environment Authority, the forum runs until September 30.

The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr Abdullah bin Ali al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority. In his address, Amri reaffirmed Oman’s commitment to climate action and the active participation of youth in shaping environmental solutions.

The Madad Development Foundation outlined the forum’s vision and objectives, emphasising the role of Arab youth in addressing climate challenges.

A representative of the United Nations Population Fund highlighted the fund’s efforts in empowering youth and advancing sustainable development in the region. A dialogue session titled ‘Youth as a Catalyst for Arab Climate Solutions’ brought together experts and representatives of international organisations to discuss youth-led solutions and ways to enhance joint climate efforts.
