Muscat – Muscat Municipality has invited consultancy firms to submit bids for two major redevelopment projects – the detailed design of Seeb fish market, and the masterplan for an industrial area in South Mabelah.

The first tender seeks consultancy services for preparing a detailed design for Seeb fish market (plots 164 and 92). The scope of work includes demolition of the existing market and development of new facilities with shops, cafés and restaurants.

The selected consultant is required to provide three planning options covering layout, building design, traffic and parking, pedestrian and cycling paths, landscaping, land use and development density.

The second tender invites proposals for consultancy services for the development of an industrial area in Mabelah South. The masterplan must be practical, sustainable and compatible with the physical characteristics of the area, while taking into account existing and future government and private developments. The design is expected to optimise land use, while improving accessibility.

Both tenders are open to first- and second-grade consultancy offices. Tender documents are available until September 4, with bid submission closing on September 25.
