Mirbat – The fourth edition of Dhofar International Drag Race Championship began on Saturday at Al Damar Beach in Mirbat as part of this year’s Dhofar Khareef Festival. Running till August 12, the event will feature more than 60 competitors from Oman and other GCC countries competing in eight categories.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali al Hafeez, Chairman of Dhofar Motorsports Club, said the championship had “reached an advanced level in its fourth edition, given the number of participants and the diversity of race categories”. He noted that it has become one of the key attractions of Dhofar’s tourism season.

He added that the event reinforces the governorate’s reputation as a destination for both tourism and sports, particularly motorsports, which are attracting growing interest in Oman and across the region.
