Indonesia – A 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck Maluku Province in Indonesia today, but there were no reports of any casualties or material damage so far.

The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was offshore, 170 kilometers southeast of the province, at a depth of 108 kilometers.

The agency expected aftershocks, but no tsunami warnings were issued due to the earthquake.

It’s worth noting that a 9.1-magnitude earthquake struck Aceh province in 2004, triggering a tsunami and killing more than 170,000 people in Indonesia.
