Oman Cricket’s domestic season to start on August 15

13 Jul 2025

Muscat – Oman Cricket (OC) is all set to launch the 2025–26 domestic season, with the Premier Division kicking off on August 15 with the exciting Oman D20. Other senior division matches will begin on September 5.

Team registrations are now open across all divisions, with the deadline set for August 3. Players must complete their registrations by August 10. Interested teams can register online at www.omancricket.org > registrations or contact Zeeshan Siddique (+968 92204745) for assistance.

OC Chief Development Officer Duleep Mendis expressed optimism about the upcoming season:

“We have seen an improvement in the quality of cricket being played in the domestic leagues. Several players have made it to the national team based on their domestic performances. We hope to have another entertaining season with intense and closely fought matches.”

Last season saw participation from over 60 teams across various divisions, from the Premier to Division I. Mendis expects that number to grow.

“We expect the enthusiasm to reflect in this season’s registrations. Oman has emerged as a strong cricketing nation, and with our development initiatives gaining momentum, we hope to see increased participation.”

Mendis also extended gratitude to OC’s sponsors.

“Without the support of corporates and business houses, we would not be able to promote the game as effectively as we are now.”

While registrations are currently open for senior cricket, OC will soon announce registration dates for junior and women’s cricket.
