Muscat – The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), in partnership with Al Futtaim New LLC, has issued a recall of 140 units of the IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL garlic press (black), due to a manufacturing defect that could pose a health risk to users.

The affected items were manufactured in 2024 and carry the serial numbers 305.781.89, 201.521.58, and 601.636.02. According to the CPA, the defect may cause small metal parts to come loose during use, potentially leading to accidental ingestion.

Consumers can check whether their product is included in the recall by visiting the CPA’s portal: recall.cpa.gov.om. Anyone owning one of the impacted units can return it to any IKEA branch for a full refund, even without a receipt.

The authority stressed that this move is part of its broader effort to ensure product safety in local markets, and to swiftly address any hazards in cooperation with relevant entities.

‘This campaign reflects our ongoing commitment to consumer health and well-being across the sultanate,’ the CPA stated.
