Muscat – In a move aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness in remote areas, Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) introduced an ambulance service at its centre located at the Rub al Khali border crossing on Sunday.

The service is part of the authority’s strategy to enhance the national emergency response network and ensure provision of timely medical assistance in border regions, particularly in isolated and high-risk areas.

Equipped with advanced life-saving equipment and staffed by trained paramedics, the ambulance will support prompt response to road accidents, medical emergencies and other incidents in and around the border crossing.

The initiative reflects CDAA’s commitment to expanding coverage of emergency services across the sultanate, ensuring that even remote locations receive immediate medical care when needed.
