Muscat – A troupe from Kings United Dance Academy Muscat won top honours at the United Dance Organisation Middle East Championship held in Dubai recently.
Competing against 18 teams from all over the Middle East, the crew of students aged nine to 14 brought pride to Oman by securing first prize in the Under-14 Hip Hop Category and receiving the prestigious Judges’ Special Award.
The winning team comprises Hanisha Aswani, Vaanya Kukreja, Veer Shiv Gupta, Niharika, Jefrina Saravanan, Shriya Shah and Roohi Thakkar who trained intensively under the guidance of coach Mukesh and choreography director Tejas Gupta.
Their preparations spanned over 30 days, with more than 2,000 hours of focused practice put into perfecting every move.
Following this victory, the team will represent Oman at the upcoming Universal Dance Championship in UK, where elite dance crews from around the globe will compete.
“We danced not just for a trophy but to make Oman proud on a world stage. This is only the beginning,” Tejas said.
