His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Sharjah joins Omani dignitaries to open region’s premier literary event

Muscat – The 29th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair was officially inaugurated at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre under the esteemed patronage of Dr Fahad Bin Al Julanda Al Said the Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University.

The opening ceremony was graced by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Sharjah who arrived in the Sultanate of Oman and was received at the Royal Private Airport by His Excellency the Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court.

Also in attendance was  H E Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Harrasi, Minister of Information. Their presence underscored the strong cultural ties and shared literary heritage between Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

The book fair, a cornerstone in the region’s cultural calendar, showcases a wide array of literary works and publishing houses, fostering dialogue and engagement among readers, writers, and intellectuals from across the Arab world and beyond. The Book Fair will run from April 24 to May 3, 2025.
