24 Apr 2025

Muscat – The Directorate General for Inquiries and Criminal Investigations at the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested a Canadian national accused of being a member of an international organised crime syndicate. The individual is believed to have taken part in a number of criminal operations across multiple countries.

Following thorough investigations and in line with judicial procedures, the suspect was formally handed over to Canadian authorities. The extradition took place as part of the ongoing security cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and Canada, reflecting the strong bilateral commitment to international justice and law enforcement collaboration.

The Royal Oman Police in an official statement reaffirmed its stance in combating trans-national organised crime and reiterated its continued cooperation with international partners. The ROP stressed that protecting the safety and security of society remains a top priority, and it will persist in its efforts to dismantle global criminal networks through coordinated operations and intelligence sharing.
