5 Mar 2025 Oman launches global tourism campaign By OUR CORRESPONDENT

Muscat – Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) has launched its 2025 promotional campaign to consolidate Oman’s position as a global tourist destination. Announced at International Tourism Bourse (ITB) Berlin in Germany, being held from March 4 to 6, the campaign includes promotional activities in key international markets.

As part of the campaign, the sultanate will open new tourism representative offices in China, Russia, Spain, Latin America, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand to expand its presence in these markets.

Agreements will be signed with more than 80 international tourism companies for joint promotional campaigns targeting Belgium, China, India, Italy, France, Germany, Russia, Britain, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the Nordic countries and the Gulf states. These campaigns aim to increase hotel occupancy and generate direct economic returns, MHT stated.

The campaign includes advertising in public transport systems such as taxis, buses and train stations, promotions in major shopping malls and on road signs in high-footfall areas.

More than 50 media campaigns will be launched in collaboration with international media outlets, alongside television promotions to enhance Oman’s global visibility.

MHT will participate in 23 tourism exhibitions and international workshops and collaborate with airlines in the Gulf region and beyond for joint promotional efforts.

To further showcase Oman’s tourism offerings, over 100 familiarisation trips will be organised for tourism companies and international media representatives. Digital campaigns will also be launched across social media platforms, including Discover Oman, along with partnerships with global travel websites.

MHT will continue periodic training sessions for representatives of tourism companies in target markets, focusing on specialised tourism segments such as marine, adventure, golf and wedding tourism, besides charter trips.
