Muscat – As Muscat Daily marks its 15th anniversary on Thursday, it reflects on the journey of delivering timely, credible news across Oman. With over 3,500 editions, thousands of news stories and immeasurable impact on readers, it has built a strong connection with its audience.
Several loyal readers, some of whom have been with the paper since its early days, share their experiences with Muscat Daily and their hopes for the future.
Iqbal Sultan al Lawati, a subscriber since 2009, expressed his satisfaction with the paper’s content and presentation. “I look forward to reading the paper every morning,” he said, adding that what appeals to him the most is the “excellent news content, unbiased coverage and good language”.

While he is happy with the overall quality, Lawati suggested inclusion of more photographs showcasing the country’s diverse landscapes and culture. He also hopes that the paper will eventually be available on weekends.
Narayanan Iyer, another subscriber since 2009, praised Muscat Daily’s “elegant and stylish” design and extensive local news coverage. “The sports coverage is excellent, but I think there could be more focus on politics,” he noted.

For Sanjay Saxena, subscriber since 2013, the paper’s appeal lies in its straightforward and unbiased reporting. “I love the detailed news, which is always clear and to the point,” he said.

He complimented the front page design, describing it as “specific and colourful”, and also appreciated the online edition.
A reader since 2017, Chandra Mohan highlighted Muscat Daily’s balanced coverage of national and international news. He enjoys, in particular, the variety of content, which includes articles for children. “It covers all aspects of society.”

Muscat Daily’s punctuality – subscribers are assured of timely delivery to their doorstep every morning – is a distinguishing factor and commended by several readers including Vinod Raghavan. “It arrives early and I read it with my morning cup of tea,” he said.
He praised the feature articles for their inspiring stories but was critical of the coverage of India. “More human-interest stories from India would be a better fit,” Raghavan added. Additionally, he’s disappointed that Muscat Daily is not available on holidays.

Regular reader Musallam al Shukairi has been “consistently impressed with the quality and depth of reporting. Your team does an exceptional job of providing in-depth analysis and commentary on issues that matter most to the people of Oman”.
He added, “I particularly appreciate the mix of online and print news offered by Muscat Daily. This allows me to stay informed on the latest developments while still enjoying the traditional experience of reading a physical newspaper.”
Jill Fitz Simmons started reading Muscat Daily after relocating from Dubai in 2010. While acknowledging the paper’s strong content, she expressed a desire for more breaking news and looks forward to seeing it continue to evolve.
