Muscat – The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MoHERI), in partnership with ITHCA Group and support from Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, signed several agreements on Tuesday to start the initial phase of a national digital platform for innovations in the sultanate called Oman Innovates.

Dr Badr bin Ali al Hinai,  Director of Scientific Research at MoHERI, and Dr Badr bin Salim al Manthari, Executive Vice-President for Strategic Affairs at ITHCA Group, signed the agreements.

The project will be managed by Digital Transformation Management Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of ITHCA Group.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) won the consulting study contract to provide an overview and analysis for the design and implementation needs of the project.

Osos Company and its partner Liferay secured the website development contract, while Moving Pictures has been appointed to handle marketing services for Oman Innovates.

The platform aims to bring together all stakeholders of innovations in the sultanate, aligning these with the goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040. Its purpose is to support economic diversification through efficient services, guiding innovators from idea conception to realisation, and fostering collaborations locally and globally to enhance Oman’s innovation ecosystem and positioning in the Global Innovation Index.
