Muscat – The Tenders Committee of Dakhliyah governorate awarded several development projects worth a total of RO1.534mn on Tuesday. 

These initiatives are part of a broader effort to enhance municipal services across the governorate, reflecting the government’s commitment to infrastructure advancement and community welfare.

The committee convened under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hilal bin Saeed Al Hajri, Governor of Dakhliyah. 

Key projects include construction of Jabal Akhdar Park and enhancement of Al Maamoura Park in Bahla. These projects aim to provide recreational spaces for residents and visitors, and boost local tourism and community well-being. Additionally, the committee addressed infrastructure needs to prevent waterlogging in several roads in wilayats of Dakhliyah, which will significantly improve transportation safety and efficiency.

Other developments include construction of a new transportation building for the municipality department in Bidbid, installation of light poles at Nizwa Central Market parking lot and furnishing civic buildings across the governorate. These enhancements are expected to significantly improve municipal services and facilities.

The 20,000sqm Jabal Akhdar Park project will feature a variety of amenities, including public seating areas, children’s play zones, exercise paths, and commercial investment sites including cafes and an open air multi-use theatre. The park is designed to be a cornerstone of community life, offering both leisure and commercial benefits to the residents and visitors.
