OCHS, Kuwait sign cooperation agreement in nursing

Kuwait City – In an effort to enhance the field of nursing and develop skills of healthcare professionals, a cooperation agreement was signed between Oman College of Health Sciences (OCHS) and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health in Kuwait on Monday.

The agreement includes several specialised programmes to train nursing staff with the aim of enhancing their scientific knowledge and practical skills in these specialties. The agreement will come into effect with implementation of training in critical care nursing for adults, followed by paediatric critical care nursing, scheduled to commence mid-May.

The collaboration aims to facilitate exchange of knowledge and experiences between the two parties, and develop training and educational curricula to meet the needs of the nursing job market, ultimately improving the quality of healthcare provided in hospitals and medical centres.

The signing of the agreement is a qualitative leap in enhancing bilateral cooperation between Kuwait and Oman in the healthcare sector, and strengthening capabilities of healthcare professionals in both countries to meet the aspirations of the community and achieve the highest levels of healthcare.

In Kuwait, the OCHS team conducted several relevant visits to discuss areas of cooperation. The team met H E Dr Saleh Amer al Kharousi, Ambassador of Oman to Kuwait, and visited the Nursing College of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, Jaber al Ahmad al Sabah Hospital and Amiri Hospital.
