Muscat – The Ministry of Labour (MoL) on Tuesday hosted a forum on ‘Managing Strategic Projects with the Concept of Good Governance’ in Salalah under the patronage of Sheikh Salem bin Mustahil al Maashani, Advisor to the Diwan of Royal Court.

The two-day forum, being held in partnership with the Reference Centre for Organising Conferences and Seminars, will probe the integral role human resources play in bolstering the management of strategic projects under the umbrella of good governance, officials said.

A special focus has been accorded on current practices in the sultanate, drawing insights from global experiences, officials added.

The event underscores the necessity of clearly outlining good governance requirements, defining roles, and responsibilities in the context of Oman’s strategic projects. The ultimate goal is to pave the way for sustainable development. Attendees will also explore strategies to invigorate these governance models, ensuring progress towards this development.

Sessions at the conference will delve into the governance framework for strategic projects, shedding light on relevant legislative and regulatory parameters with key topics being implementation mechanisms, the challenges faced, and potential solutions.

According to officials, a comprehensive coverage of several subjects and issues, with insights from a diverse array of experts, researchers, and stakeholders, both local and international is expected during each deliberation.

The forum aims to highlight the latest advancements in research related to strategic project management and good governance through a mix of papers, visual displays, panel debates, and hands-on experiences.
