Decree No 14/ 2023 gives public utility status to Ibri road projects

Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued two Royal Decrees on Thursday, reading as follows:

Royal Decree No 13/2023 ratifies a cooperation agreement in the field of shipping and ports between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, signed in Manama on October 24, 2022.

• Article 1 ratifies the aforementioned agreement as per the version attached to this decree.
• Article 2 states that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.

Royal Decree No 14/ 2023 ascribes public utility status to the Ibri bypass road and Ibri-Ten’am dual-carriageway projects in Dhahirah governorate.

• Article 1 states that the Ibri bypass road and Ibri-Ten’am dual-carriageway projects in Dhahirah, as defined in the memo and diagram attached to this decree, are henceforth deemed as public utility projects.
• Article 2 stipulates that the authorities concerned may expropriate, through direct implementation, properties and land necessary for the aforementioned projects, along with the installations therein in accordance with the Public Utility Expropriation Law promulgated by the Royal Decree No 64/ 78.
• Article 3 states that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced on its date of issue.
