Muscat – Over 380,000 people visited the maritime festival in North Batinah, which was held in Manial Park in the wilayat of Sohar.
The festival, which started on January 28, concluded on Saturday under the patronage of H E Sayyid Sulaiman bin Hamoud al Busaidi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers.
Mohammed Sulaiman al Kindi, Governor of North Batinah, said the festival achieved its objectives, which lasted for nearly a month.
It had clear indicators, the most important of which is the activation of the commercial and marketing movement for the owners of productive and needy families and small and medium enterprises.
He added, “Some 384,474 people visited the festival, while the number of beneficiaries reached 138 families and institutions. The number of the participating craftsmen was 156.”
The number of owners of stalls and traditional crafts reached 415 participants. The closing ceremony included several programmes, fireworks among others.
