Muscat – In one of the most miraculous rescues in the aftermath of the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority’s (CDAA) search and rescue team pulled out a woman alive from the rubble of a building on Monday morning.
The 60 year old survived being trapped for seven days when the team from Oman rescued her.
The past week has seen a series of miraculous rescues in Turkey and Syria, which have provided moments of joy amidst the gloom.
A statement issued by CDAA said, ‘After extensive searches in a number of areas affected by the earthquake, which resulted in the recovery of a number of dead victims, the National Search and Rescue Team pulled a woman out from underneath the rubble of a collapsed building in Turkey. She received the necessary treatment from the medical team and was transferred to the hospital for further treatment.’
