Muscat – The Ministry of Education (MoE) signed a cooperation agreement with the OQ Group on Wednesday to equip the science laboratory of Al Amal School for the Deaf.
The agreement was signed by H E Dr Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary for Education, and Najlaa bint Zuhair al Jamali, CEO of Alternative Energy and head of Social Investment Committee at OQ Group.
Dr Thuraiya bint Hamad al Rashidi, Director General of the Directorate General of Special Education and Continued Learning in the ministry, and Muna al Jabri from the Foreign Affairs and Societal Investment unit of OQ Group, were also present.
On the occasion, H E Ambosaidi expressed his gratitude to OQ Group for its support to the education sector through programmes and initiatives aimed at enabling the educational process and contributing to the establishment of scientific facilities that develop the skills of students with disabilities.
He noted that the agreement will contribute to supplementing the theoretical learning of students with application “to reach their maximum potential and in a manner that widens scientific horizons for them to benefit from scientific experiences and practical applications”.
On her turn, Najlaa said, “The signing of this agreement with MoE stems from the social responsibility that the OQ Group wishes to fulfil by supporting educational programmes as part of the community partnership that it pursues within the framework of its role in society. We look forward to this agreement contributing in developing the abilities of students with disabilities and providing them with the skills that qualify them to master the school curriculum.”
