Muscat – Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) will present a much-anticipated annual concert on the occasion of Omani Women’s Day on October 17.
A press release said, ‘In a spirit of solidarity and respect, ROHM invites audiences to experience this event. It is a chance to congratulate inspiring women in all areas of life, from tireless mothers and wives to women in industry, the arts, science, academia and public service. The event also offers an opportunity where families and friends can gather with their special ones to acknowledge their love and gratitude. It is a concert showcasing excellence in musical performance by women.’
The concert celebrates the women involved in music in Oman; women now make up more than 30 per cent of the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra. The programme will see special guest artist, Kuwaiti-born Rawan Behbehani, a pianist of international standing, demonstrating a rare and extraordinary talent.
‘The concert has been programmed to present music which encompasses traditional sounds of the nation’s heritage and classical music from the world stage performed by a talented group of musicians from Oman and beyond. The season’s theme of Tradition, Innovation and Talent are underpinned in a concert audiences will love,’ the release said.
