Muscat – The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, represented by the Research Council, announced the opening of registration for the National Scientific Research Award (NRA) for 2022.

The award aims to encourage researchers to conduct high quality and relevant research in areas of national interest. The last date of registration is September 25.

NRA is awarded in two categories – best published research led by a PhD holder or equivalent, and best published research led by a young researcher (non-PhD holder).

The research must be of relevance to Oman and in the field of education and human resources; information and communication technologies; health and social services; cultural, social and basic sciences; energy and industry; or environmental and biological resources.

The published research must not have won any other award nationally or internationally.

The research must have been published after March 15, 2019, in a refereed journal, indexed in either Scopus, Web of Science or in one of the Arabic periodicals listed in the award’s website.
