Muscat – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued four Royal Decrees on Tuesday reading as follows:

Royal Decree No 51/2022 amending some provisions of the Notary Public Law.

After presenting the same before the Council of Oman

Article 1 states that the amendments attached to the aforementioned Notary Public Law will be applied.

Article 2 cancels all that contradicts the attached amendments or contravenes their provisions.

Article 3 states that the decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced the day following its date of publication.

Royal Decree No 52/2022 amending some provisions of the Records and Archives Law.

After presenting the same before the Council of Oman

Article 1 states that the amendments attached to the aforementioned Records and Archives Law will be applied.

Article 2 cancels all that contradicts the attached amendments or contravenes their provisions.

Article 3 states that the decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced the day following its date of publication.

Royal Decree No 53/2022 on the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) and the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates.

Article 1 states that the affiliation of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates will be transferred to OPAZ.

Article 2 stipulates that OPAZ will undertake the specialisations of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates pertaining to outlining the general policy, regulation, control, supervision, and unifying services and incentives offered to investors.

Article 3 states that the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates will undertake the specialisations linked to the operation of industrial estates.

Article 4 replaces the phrase ‘Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion’ wherever it might occur in laws and Royal decrees pertaining to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates with the phrase ‘Chairman of the Board of Directors of OPAZ’.

Article 5 the Chairman of the Board of Directors of OPAZ will issue the decisions necessary to implement provisions of this decree.

Article 6 cancels all that contradicts this decree or contravenes its provisions.

Article 7 states that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.

Royal Decree No 54/2022 establishing National Natural Park Reserve in Governorate of Musandam.

Article 1 states that a sanctuary under the name ‘National Natural Park Reserve in Governorate of Musandam’ will be established and that it will be accorded the zone whose demarcations are indicated in the annex and diagram attached to this decree.

Article 2 stipulates that the Chairman of the Environment Authority, after approval of the Governor of Musandam, will issue the regulations and decisions necessary for the implementation of this decree.

The regulations and decisions will include the method of management for this national reserve, formalities for entry to the sanctuary, the prescribed fees, the duration of stay therein, the activities allowed to be practised or prohibited there and the appropriate administrative penalties against each case of violation.

Article 3 states that the decree will be published in the Official Gazette and enforced the day following its date of publication.
