Muscat – The Governor’s Office of North Sharqiyah on Sunday announced several development and service projects in the governorate.

Sheikh Ali Ahmed al Shamsi, Governor of North Sharqiyah, stated that the governorate is planning many projects, including construction of central markets, gardens, public parks and recreational facilities, in addition to the construction of slaughterhouses and walkways.

“These projects are part of the Governorate Development Programme aimed at achieving national development goals,” he added.

A central market for livestock and fodder in Sinaw, in the wilayat of Mudhaibi, will be built on an area of 193,000sqm.

A slaughterhouse is also planed in Mudhaibi, while Ibra will get a central market for vegetables and fruits through the Governorate Development Programme.

According to the Shamsi, an integrated station planned in Ibra will include a public yard to sell used cars, a motel and a restaurant. “Spread over 73,000sqm, it will support tourism and the economy of the governorate.”

A recreational centre in the wilayat of Bidiyah, on an area of 212,000sqm, will host winter festivals and include a family shopping area. It will also have children’s rides, a heritage village, restaurants and cafes. “The project has been assigned to a specialised consulting firm,” the governor said.

Sharqiyah Park
Spread over an area of 1mn sqm, Sharqiyah Park will be built in Masron in Ibra. The park will include shaded benches, a theatre for live performances, play areas, bicycle and skating paths, a walkway, and special lanes for people with disabilities.

It will have restaurants, cafes and shops, with its main attraction being a dancing fountain.
Another public park will be set up in the wilayat of Dima Wa al Teian on an area of 28,000 sqm, while a 24,000sqm park – Al Khalidiya Park – will be built in wilayat of Wadi Bani Khalid.

Shamsi informed that the parks will have play areas for children, cafes, and barbecue areas, besides prayer halls.
