Muscat – Post-graduate Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) students and faculty of the Higher Institute of Health Specialties (HIHS), in collaboration with Community Outreach Committee recently conducted an awareness campaign titled, ‘Empowering a Culture of Safe Working Environment’ at the Muscat International Airport.
This activity targeted Muscat International Airport administration staff, supervisors and other staff from different departments (medical and non-medical).
The main aim was to create awareness on basic infection prevention and control practices that will help to address any outbreak similar to the COVID-19 virus in the future.
Moreover, the event had been planned to enhance knowledge on preventive measures inside Muscat International Airport based on Ministry of Health (MoH) regulations, and improve skills in relation to infection prevention and control practices of all participants and to help develop outbreak management and intervention in the future.
It is worth noting that IPCP is one of nine different programmes taught at HIHS. It was introduced in 2009 and works to prepare employees from different paramedical categories to be an infection prevention and control specialist in the MoH.
